Searching Nelson, Shelby, Barren and Allen Counties, KY for NATHANIEL RUSSELL, father of JOHN W. RUSSELL, b. 4-1-31 in KY. NATHANIEL RUSSELL is thought to be related to 1.) HIRAM BUCKNER; JOSEPH; JOHN B. RUSSELL - three of four brothers who immigrated to Missouri in the 1820s and settled in COLE and MILLER Co., Missouri. 2.) SUSAN "SUKIE" (RUSSELL) PITCHFORD and the CALVERT/DEVASHER families. SUSAN was the daughter of JOHN RUSSELL and NANCY CALVERT of NC. NANCY's parents were JOHN D. CALVERT and JANE RUSSELL, of NC VA? NANCY and JOHN RUSSELL were buried in Allen Co. & had 6 ( of twelve) known children: JOHN COLBERT b 1820 (>MO and m'd Anna AMOS); JOSEPH (>TN); SAMUEL (>GA); NANCY b 1829 (m'd E. Erastus ELPIN); JAMES FRANK b 1822 (m'd 1st Margaret DOSSEY, 2nd Sarah L. PAYNE); and SUSAN b 1827 (>MO m'd Fleming PITCHFORD). The Russells, Calverts and Devashers lived in Barren and Allen Counties - 6 known children of JOHN and JANE (RUSSELL) CALVERT WERE: MARY b 1811 (m'd Fletcher GATEWOOD); ELIZABETH m'd Wm. DAVESHER); NANCY 1803 (m'd JOHN RUSSELL); JESSE b 1822; JOHN J. b 1826 and JAMES WESLEY b 1828 (m'd Elizabeth S. RITTER) Some of the Russell/Calvert/Devasher children lived in Simpson, Metcalf, and Monroe Co., KY Any info concerning NATHANIEL RUSSELL - his parents, siblings, wife/wives, and their children would be greatly appreciated.
