Bob, Thank you for answering Nelson County-Humphrey. Wow/ What a surprise I had. My Uncle Robert Humphrey, of Louisville (d6-87) back in the 70's gave my mom a brief written history of family from Nelson County and he only went back to John Harrison Humphrey. Can you contact me direct at my e-mail sam@ezl.com.. Would you share more of family history with me? Have you heard of Mary Louise Donnelly? She has a book on Head, Vowles 1634-1780 St. Mary's County, Maryland. Nelson County, Ky-Church Records, St. Catherine's, 1843-1858. The first Baptism listed here is for James William Humphrey son of John H. and Elizabeth Head, this is my GGGrandfather and my GGrandfather. My Mother is the daughter of George Humphrey son of James William Humphrey. George Humphrey"s parents both died when he was about 6 years old and he went to a school called "Monks College" at the Trappist Order of Monks at Gethsmene, Ky. He had showed my Uncle when he was a young boy where the old home place was. The old tan vats and the small log workshop were still standing at that time. Do you know of this area? The Louisville paper wrote an article about them once in the 70's and my Uncle replied to the story because the paper thought it had to do with Indians. Hope to hear from you again soon. Thanks. Carol
