I hope each day that you are walking better, Olivia. It is a long, hard pull but you will win out in the end. A friend of mine who is now 84, broke her hip when she was 82, and after two operations (the first was not successful), she gets out and walks without even a cane most of the time. She sure made a remarkable recovery. And Rose Lee, I hope you, Joe, and Sharon are well and enjoying life. I know that Sharon keeps things lively for you and keeps you young in thoughts and actions. Sharon must be quite the business girl by this time. I hope she enjoys working in an office as much as I did all those years that I worked. I am again planning on going down to Santa Monica, California, to be with Ted and his family for the holidays, unless something happens in the meantime to change my plans. Ted's wife was sick a short time ago, so a lot depends upon how she feels when the 19th rolls around. There is not much news about me -- I just get a little slower and like to go to bed earlier than I used to, so you see I have slowed down. I suffer from nerves, which a lot of people have, and I have nothing to be nervous about; I guess it is due to the high blood pressure which I have had for years but which the doctor keeps under control by a lot of medicine prescribed to me. I spend most of the time from April thru September at my beach place, coming into towns for short visits. We had a perfect spring and summer this year so it was enjoyable at the beach. I had three different sets of company from California during September and October and they stayed with me in my small apartment. My niece, Pat Wiggins, came up the early part of September for a week before her school started; she teaches English in high school. For many years she worked as a secretary, but decided there was not enough future in that, so went back to college for an additional two years to get her teaching degree; she seems to be very happy in her new choice. Tom Wiggins is now a TWA pilot. I am amazed whenever I see those big planes to think that young Tom is flying one. He is still a bachelor -- about 33 years. Teddy Wiggins family are all growing up. His oldest daughter, Colleen, is now a junior in college -- away from home--she wants to be a veterinarian! The rest of his children are in school, with the exception of the youngest little girl. My brother Ted seems to keep well and strong. He keeps himself busy taking care of their five unit apartments. He is 73 now. We are all getting up there. When our parents were that age, we all thought they were old, so I guess we are too now! Take care of yourselves and say a little prayer for all of us. Some of the death records are available, "Kentucky Death Records" in a Google type search brings up many of the Wiggins eg. Dora Wiggins and others of her descendants. 4. That is how Thomas Michael Stanton met Loretta Butts, he was building a school in Glenmont, Holmes, Ohio where her parents and siblings lived. They were married in Glenmont. ~Many of the Stanton descendants are short, thin, have exceptionally blue eyes and some have large ears. ~Mari GRASS WIGGINS had a half sister named Rosa Grass Durcholz (Durcholtz) from Indiana. Her husband's name is Phillip and they had a daughter named Henrietta who married Leo KLUEH born in Ferdinand, Indiana. [Unknown if this Leo Klueh is related to Elizabeth Klueh, George John WIGGINS' wife however, suspect strongly they are as close family often married at that time. Further research upon the GRASS family might be begun in the Ferdinand, Indiana area. The GRASS family is also believed to have spoken German however, the name of the father of Mari (Mary) Grass Wiggins and her half sister Rose Grass Klueh is unknown; and, due to the women being half sisters there would be two marriages for him with unknown women. ~Theodore WIGGINS initially shows up in Shelbyville, KY with his wife and at least one child before he settles in Louisville, KY. It appears from these records (which are probably now archived in Franklin, Kentucky) that he was from a town sounding like "Westkirchen" or "Neufahren or Neuflauen" in Germany. Towns with these or names sounding as they do are in PRUSSIA, GERMANY. Neufahr is a town in Prussia, Germany now and, as names of towns do change, it could have previously been called Neufahren. Neu = new and Fahren = far or go or travel in German now. There is a town called Neufahr in West Prussian, Kingdom of Prussian, Germany. ALSO, Westkirchen (West=west Kirche=Church) has shown up and, currently, there are places called West Kirchen: Westkirchen, Westphalia, Kingdom of Prussia, Germany; Westkirchen, Warendorf, Westphalia, Kingdom of Prussia, Gemany; and, Westkirchen, Ennigerloh, Beckum, Westphalia, Kingdom of Prussia, Germany. NOTE: They are all in Westphalia, Kingdom of Prussia (and may actually be the same town redistricted over the years) in Germany. and Neufahr is also in Prussia; therefore, IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT THEODORE / THEODORE H. WIGGINS IS FROM PRUSSIA, GERMANY AND MOST LIKELY THE WESTPHALIA AREA OF PRUSSIA, GERMANY. I do speak German. Thank you! ~Patrick Stanton, it has been said, had around 7 brothers and sisters born in Ireland and he was to have named his children after his brothers and sisters. Also, he was definitely from County Mayo in Ireland ( Mayo is even on his grave stone.) It is possible that he was born on or very near Klare Island in the County of Mayo as descendants were told he was from Klare however, Mayo is on the gravestone and is possibly there to avoid the confusion with the County in Ireland sounding like Klare but begins with a C. There is an island in County Mayo called Klare Island and it is on maps. ~It has been heard that Patrick Stanton (husband of Dora Wiggins)'s father sent 4 of his children to England and the other 4 of his children to the United States. It has been heard that he did this because he wasn't certain which place was best and he wanted at least some of his children to survive. This is not heartless as it may sound. Remember that Ireland was in the midst of a potato family and potatoes are what they ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They were starving. He sent his children, out of love, to different parts of the world. It was common then that whichever children were more successful, meaning had jobs and a community which could support them, would, possibly later, invite their siblings who were not able to succeed as well elsewhere to come live with them. It was said that Patrick named his children after his siblings. Patrick immigrated to America (first working in Shelbyville then living in Louisville, KY) between 1852 and 1854 as his oldest daughter Mary was born in Ireland and his next child and oldest son Michael Jacob was born in Kentucky. ~Patrick Stanton's wife Bridget's maiden name is not for certain however, RUDDY RUDY ROODY and RAIDY have come up several times. There is a RAIDY baby buried in the STANTON plot; and, next to the STANTON plot are other RAIDY burials. Suspected that either her maiden name was RAIDY or a sister also settled in Louisville and she married a RAIDY or her brother came to Louisville and is surnamed RAIDY.
