Valentine Choate was born @ 1816 to Gabriel Choate and Phoebe Guffey. He married Leodicia Hicks. Their children are: 1. Jacob born @ 1841; 2. John P. born @ 1843; 3. Stacy C. born @ 1846; 4. Shelby F. born January 4, 1847 died March 19, 1923; 5. Louis born @ 1849 and 6. Elvira born May 13, 1854. There is a cemetery in the edge of Wayne County next to the Clinton Co. line that is named the Choate Cemetery. It is well maintained. The land for this cemetery came from a farm that was in our family for several generations. I can probably get you a listing of the people buried there if you would like.
