MIRIAM ELIZABETH HALSELL SULLIVAN (1844-1878)
This was my Gt.-grandmother. I was hoping to
find her grave, supposedly in Hopkinsville...
Family records make mention of that. She was from Graves Co,KY but died in Paducah (McCracken Co.)- 10/1878. No mention of why she was there but she may have died in a Yellow Fever epidemic raging in the Fall of that year in the KY-JP. She had a husband & 7 children in Ballard Co., one of them my grandfather - Wm. H. Sullivan (age 9)- the middle child. It must've been very sad for their mother to disappear, never to be seen again. Also, it seems that none of the children died when she did, indicating the visit to Paducah may not have been a cursory visit just to see family or friends (abt. 60 miles each way).
Mystery is --why did they take her to Hopkinsville (Christian Co.) home of her grandparents -HALSELL & HAYDEN?
IF anyone has a cemetery book for the Hopkinsville & area cemeteries, I'd really appreciate a lookup. One clue could be that
her family were Primitive Baptists, her father- E.B. HALSELL- was actually a PB minister,in Graves & Ballard Co.
Thanks so much in advance for any help, Martha SULLIVAN Smith
