James,
Sorry, I don't have more information about Sarah (Williams) Hardin or my ggggrandfather
but there's a slight chance our exchange(s) might stimulate ideas for success in further
research. Seems her family might have trekked westward to Christian Co. just slightly ahead of your Williams so I would think they all may have been close relatives. There are two branches of Hubbard's (Virginia and Kentucky) joined into my Hardin family tree in 19th century north central Missouri. On Jan. 25, 1999 in the Hubbard genforum Diane Wilkinson posted a reply to David Hamilton's message on the subject "Rev. John Hubbard 1796-1843 Trigg Co. KY" stating that John Hubbard married Diana C. Williams and left Halifax Co., VA to Christian Co., Kentucky by about 1836. It seems associated families of different surnames migrated from certain locales to certain other locales and sometimes did so in different decades. I surmise from a perusal of Williams and Hardin listings in
Yahoo.com's people search that present-day Christian Co. and surrounding counties in
Kentucky and Tennessee have a fairly even distribution of these surnames considering
differences in sizes of towns.
