Luther,

I know a bit about a Civil War ancestor of mine: Smith Sherwood. Here's a link to a picture I took recently of his grave: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bhsher/225680153/

Private Smith Sherwood
Co G
6th KY Inf. Regiment
Orphan Brigade
CSA

An excerpt from The Anderson News, January 10, 1963.
"Our Heritage" by Wyatt Shely

Smith Sherwood enlisted in the Sixth Kentucky Infantry, under the command of Captain Gran Utterback. As a member of the famed Orphan Brigade, Smith fought at Shiloh, where more than 1400 Kentucky boys lost their lives. He was discharged because of disease in 1863, and died soon thereafter at his mother's home near Glensboro in Anderson County. He was buried in the family graveyard near Anderson City.

I hope that helps!
