I have a Margaret E. PARSLEY ancestor who was born about 1861/62 in California. She is listed with her widowed mother and siblings in the 1870 Jackson County, KS Federal Census as Margaret Passley, AGE 8, and in the 1875 Shawnee County, KS State Census as M. E. MONROE, Age 12. I cannot find her in the 1880 federal census although her mother and other family are still in Topeka in 1880. I suspect Margaret either died or married between the 1875 state census and the 1880 federal census. I had been looking for a marriage or death record for Margaret Parsley, but since I found her listed as MONROE in the 1875 state census, I am hoping that perhaps someone may be able to check the Shawnee county records for a marriage or death of a Margaret E. MONROE for me. Thank you very much.
