I too tried to get personnel record for my fathers medals that he never recieved ,and same thing the fire,but they do have discharge papers... if not personnel. write to St LOuis again with all the info you have and see if they send dicharge records they sent my dads.Or try going to nearest base they let me in on base to speak to someone on this issue try it.May Keely is in charge of archives in st loius good luck.
