Hello, My main research is on the KIDDER family which was centered around Calais and Princeton, MAINE, during the 1800's and 1900's. My great-grandfather, G. Sanford Kidder, was born in Princeton, ME, in 1870. He was the oldest of six children. I was able to obtain information about his two brothers, Frank and Clinton. But, I have found very little information on their three sisters, Julia, Ruth, and Aurelia. Julia married John ROBINSON near Waterville, ME. And, both "Ruth" and "Rilla" married in Houlton, ME. "Rilla" married John HARRIS, and "Ruth" married Alexander MOORE. Alex and Ruth MOORE had three children born to them. The first seems to have died early, then they had a son, Joseph MOORE, and a daughter, Mildred MOORE. Last summer I found out that Joseph Moore married Blanche McLEOD, but they probably didn't have any children. Mildred Moore married .. John Leo KIRLIN .. on Jan. 23, 1920. The person who provided this information told me that John and Mildred probably had 5 children. But, I have not yet received the names and dates of the children. Unfortunately for Joseph and Mildred, their mother, Ruth, seems to have died in Princeton, ME, a few months after giving birth to Mildred. And, to make matters worse, their father, Alex, died 3 years later. A guess is that Joseph (5) and Mildred (3) went to live with two, maiden aunts .. on the MOORE farm .. in Houlton, ME. I was wondering if anyone else was researching this family. Alex Moore was the son of Alex Moore, and these MOORE families seem to have lived in both Houlton, ME, and Woodstock, NB. (nearby town) |
