You are right about Gillespie and Kirkwood being intertwined throughout history. I have John Kirkwood (son of Robert) m. Anna M. Gillespie and then Dora Biles. Later, there is Martin Kirkwood m. Adeline Gillespie and having Charles, Ed, Al, Mary, and Eilene. Lauren Ruth Kinkade married Thomas P. Gillespie, and they had Frank, Albert, Henrietta and Thomas. I have just started doing the research into the Kinkade/Kirkwood/Gillespie connection. The initial contact between the Kirkwood/Kinkade people came when Nancy Kirkwood (d. of Robert and sister of John above) married Albert Gallatin Kinkade.
