I do have info on Kirkes/Kircus/Kerkes family from Georgia. I have a Samuel in my tree. The family I know originated in North Carolina, then migrated to Georgia, then several family members moved to Arkansas, some stayed in Georgia as far as I can tell, and some went to Alabama. Later, some of these can be tracked into OK, TX, and CA. I've encountered various spellings for the same individual in the census records. This is largely due to the lack of education early on of the Kirkes family members. It is interesting that you have the Kircus name while my grandmother had the Kirkes version, but I'm positive these are one and the same family. so...let's talk more and share info.
