I would like to track down the ancestors of my great grand father, Sam Kennerly. Here's what I know about him: Came from Tennessee. Wrote an autobiography titled "Sam Tag" about his childhood experiences during the Civil War. So, I'm assuming he was born in the 1850's. Moved to Gainesville TX. Owned a hardware there store for several years. Married Mary Caroline Bird, born 3 Dec 1861, died 4 Nov 1935 Had three daughters--one named Mary who was my maternal grandmother. Could he be a decendent of one of the Samuel Kennerlys?
