Dianne, My wife descends from the Kavanaghs from Ferryland/Calvert Newfoundland. We are just starting to figure out the connectiction. Her grandfather Alfred, born in 1901 emmigrated to CT USA in 1923. His father was James b. 1847 and his mother was Ellen Jordan b. 1865 at Ferryland. Ellen was James' second wife. If you (or anyone reading this posting) have/has any additional info I would appreciate it. I'm looking to trace James' line back to Ireland, somewhere about 1790. Mike
