Looking for any record of a Harrisburg City Dump no longer in use between 1951 and 1976. Not sure when the landfill discontinued. I believe a George Martin was the dump marshal. George Martin was my fathers biological father. My dad tells me that a Bill Johnson was killed in his home before the home was tore down and the site turned into the local Harrisburg Dump. He was in a long lived feud with the local sheriff or town marshal in Harrisburg. Then when Bill Johnson refused to give up his home, local law enforcement went in and killed him at the orders of a crooked sheriff or town marshal. Bill could see the local jail from his house. Bill Johnson was also known as Jake Johnson. His wife was ?Cynthia? Johnson. maiden name is unknown. My dad asked Jake Johnson who he was and Jake said to my dad, "I'm either your uncle or your grandpa, you choose." My dad chose to call Jake Johnson his grandpa. Jake and Cynthia Johnson were known as 100% Cherokee. The stories my dad tells about Bill Johnson are very similar to those portrayed by George Prince as the character Cherokee Jack in Night Train to Mundo Fine.
