well I've just spent 2 weeks on hols in Scotland, and as well as a couple of photos of Spedlins Tower (from outside the land I'm afraid) I also found and photographed what is left of Bower. I'll be posting photos on my website sometime in the next month or so, when I've got things sorted I'll post a URL. I have a number of archive photos of Spedlins as well, including some from before it was renovated (I can remember climbing into the ruin as a child). I'd appreciate any post restoration interior photos if anyone has any as well. Does anyone know the situation with regards to publishing photos of the tower on the net ? I'll happily write to the current owners, but my personal moral view is that they may own the building at the moment but they are very much just keepers of history. I hope to one day win a lottery and go up there with a blank cheque ;) A few years back, I drove up there, and by chance, bumped into the owner on the track up to the tower, and she kindly gave me permission to go onto the land to see the castle and take photos, so they seem fairly accepting that a great many people hold the castle dear to their hearts, but I was suprised to find that nobody else has ever posted pictures on the web. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
