Mr. Giuseppe Galeotalanza, age 77 years passed away peacefully with family by his side, to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Giuseppe immigrated to Canada in 1959 from Tufino, Italy. He came to Canada to start a better life. He married the love of his life Elena Foglia on May 16, 1959 and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. When he arrived in Canada he was employed at National Grain. He held many positions and became a millwright in 1980 after receiving his accreditation from Confederation College. Giuseppe was always a family man and he and his wife Elena had 3 beautiful children Luci, Sylvia and Sam. He was a role model for his children, family and friends and he would do anything for anyone in need. He had a love and passion for his garden. This was his past time and he spent many hours attending to and enjoying the fruits of his labour. His other past times included fishing at Cedar Creek with his son, brothers-in- law, and nephews. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Giuseppe was a very religious man and he attended St. Dominic‘s Roman Catholic Church. He had a heart and love for Christ. He is survived by his loving wife Elena; children, Luci (Bill) Kurceba, Sylvia (Rob) Maronese and Sam (Nina) and six grandchildren, Laura and Matthew Kurceba, Alyssa and Collin Maronese and Julia and Victoria Galeotalanza. Numerous extended family and other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Saverio and Lucia (Gallucci) Galeotalanza and sister Felicetta Galeotalanza. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Giuseppe Galeotalanza will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 leaving the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore St. at James at 9:30 A.M. to St. Dominic’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. celebrated by Fr. Dan Lapolla. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum at St. Andrew‘s R. C. Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening (TONIGHT) from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with Vigil being offered at 7:00 P.M. in the Westfort Chapel. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation |
