In researching my Joines family of Baltimore, I found the following. Might help...
State of Maryland, City of Baltimore
On the 16th day of January 1837, before the subscriber one of the State of Maryland's Justices of the Peace in and for the City aforesaid personally appeared William A. Inloes and made oath on the holy Evangely of Almighty God that he was 1st Lieut. of the left flank Company of the 6th Regt. M. M. (Maryland Militia) during the Campaign at North Point and that Leonard Joines above mentioned was a private in said Company and during that Campaign behaved himself as a good soldier should do, during the campaign many of the men received internal injuries which resulted in death in consequence of the rainy weather.
