I have never actually seen Annis be equal to Ann. I have seen a lot of modern researchers SAY that Annis = Ann, but in all the records I've looked at I've only seen it alternate with Agnes. I've also seen Ann = Hannah, but not Annis = Hannah. The 's' at the end seems to be a non-omitted part of the equation.
