Sorry folks but it is most unlikely Ontong means kidney.

Bonjang (where Ontong means kidney) is an artificial language invented in 2003 by a linguist as a sort of pan asian language. Ontong was used by Abel Tasman in about 1640 to name Ontong Java, a group of 122 atoll islands now part of the Solomon Islands province of Malaita. He thought they resembled part of Java and that he was lucky to have made landfall (they are only a few metres maximum elevation). A misspelling of Untung (a common Indonesian word for lucky) is therefore much more likely.

How lucky is that? Go Susan Scarcella!
