I found some information in the Fayette Co. History Book of 1917 that says a D.D.Hall, a native of Virginia, located in Connersville in the thirties and with the exception of a few months of service in the Civil War as surgeon of the Thirty-sixth Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry, continued to practice in the city until his death, June 20, 1871. This section goes on the list D.D.Hall on the roll of practitioners in 1846 and as a member of the Fayette Co. Medical Society. There is a section that mentions that many physicians since the time of the Civil War who are now deceased, which included a Doctor Hughes.
