Hi, I'm looking for a George Smith Merritt who's father might be George Merritt, Mother Unknown who was born according to records in Washington Co. NY before 1830? George Smith Merritt b. 1851 p. NY d. 1894 p. MI in a train wreck as an engineer is all that I have for him. He left his wife Emma Harriet Beebe in Indiana. He lived in Elkhart Indiana when they were Married. I had a family line until my Aunt Rose sent me records she had collected since 1947 and in one record the above was stated.
