From the Lawrenceburg News, June 2 1921. Isaac Southard Platt, the son of Seth and Rebecca Southard Platt, was born near Manchester, Ind., March 25, 1848. In young manhood he learned the trade of bricklayer from his father. His work took him to various parts of the country, living a number of years in Osage, Kans. Seven or eight years ago the family moved to Chicago, Ill. where he passed away on Sunday May 15, at the age of seventy nine years. On 29th of March, 1876, he married Miss Rose E. Judd of Fairfield, Indiana. After 40 years of married life, the wife is left to morn his passing. Also one son Ray. Of four brothers and three sisters only one brother , Charles Summer, of Lebanon, Ind. and two sisters, Mrs James M. Vaughan and Mrs Ben Manlief, of Manchester, are left. Burial May 18, 1921 at the Universalist Church. Burial was in the M.E. Cemetery at Manchester. (obit shortened of unnecessary prose and info)
