I have a 1900 Cass Co. census page for Galveston, Jackson Township (south of Logansport) showing a Thomas J. JOHNSON, widower, b. Sept. 1846 in the household of Mary J. JOHNSON, Widow, born 1826 in Ohio. Thomas was born in Indiana. Mary's father was born in Maryland, her mother in Kentucky. I am looking for the parents of my grandfather, Roy Stoman JOHNSON (b. 1898 d. 1954) and feel this mother-son may be a connection. The birth date for your Thomas JOHNSON is two years earlier than this, but still I'm hoping that it was too early for the whole county to be filled up with unrelated Johnsons the way the rest of the world is! Especially if the name STOMAN could be somehow connected to your line.
