I am seeking info on Julia L Mooia Bockover, who was my grandfather James Rufus Abernathy's, 1st wife. She was b Abt 1882 in Norton, KS, d 29 Jan 1911 in Pawhuska, Osage, Oklahoma. She was buried in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Her parents are Jacob L Bockover b 1838 in Ohio and Sarah F Ward, b Abt 1841, in New Jersey. Julia married James Rufus Abernathy on 21 Apr 1901 in Norton, Kansas. He was b 22 Nov 1878 Lake, Clinton, Illinois and d 9 Jun 1959, Missouri. They had three children, Russel Roland, Opal LaFon, Cleo Hans. (Just a hunch, but I think the "L" in both her and her father's names stands for the name "LaFon" and it could be a old family name. LaFon was also her daughter's middle name.)

Another twist to this family tail hopefully to be unraveled is the story related to me by my father, Wayne Clinton Abernathy:

Apparently there were twins born to Julia and James Abernathy and then "given" away. We are not sure if they were fraternal or identical or why they were given away. We do know that one of them was a girl and the only other person that ever knew anything more about them besides the parents, were Julia's daughter, Opal, and she went to her grave with that secret knowledge. The reason that she would not share the where abouts of the girl, as told by my father, was that after Opal had tracked the girl down some how, she then decided that her "sister" was not worthy enough to be a member of the family because she had been divorced one or two times. Soooo, if this family story rings any bells with anyone, please let me know. You can email me privately instead of posting. And thanks in advance!
