Melinda, I have done some research on your line, I found an Ellie Tanner, age 5, in the 1880 Wayne Co., IL Census - Mt. Erie township 258-258 Moses TANNER 28 IL IL IL Works on farm Malinda 27 IL IL IL Housekeeper Sophronia 8 IL IL IL Dau Ellie Ellie 5 IL IL IL Dau Charles 6m (Nov) IL IL IL Son Also, in "Wayne County, Illinois Marriage - Part II" compiled and published by Betty Beeson Page 8 May 29, 1890 Jas. M. Pruitt, age 57 4th marriage born - Maryland Father - L. Truitt Mother ? Clancy Malinda TANNER, age 42 2nd marriage Born - Illinois Father - Joseph Veniable Mother - ? Ram? Edward Skelton m. Ella Tanner on 2 November 1893 in richland Co., IL They are in the 1900 Richland Co., IL Census and a James and Malinda Truitt are living next door. I will see if I can forward that census to you.
