Searching generally for descendents of Plata Davis Reynolds (1808 - 1855) and her husband David Reynolds (1802- 1884); Marena Davis Grisham (1812 - 1883) and husband Joseph Grisham (1795 - 1872); and Plata P. Reynolds Davis(1844 - 1926)and her husband Thomas Elrod Davis (1842 - 1923). More specific to Edgar County, searching for descendents of Plata and Thomas Davis'daughters: Mattie Davis b.1867, Lutie Davis b.1873, Nettie Davis b.1875, Nellie Davis b.1879, Stella Davis b.1880, and Jessie Davis b.1885. Mitochondria (DNA) testing of a daughter's female descendent of Plata Davis Reynolds or Marena Davis Grisham is needed to prove the relatedness of descendents of their long-lost (for 200 years) sister, Alvira Davis, b.1803, KY. Such relatedness can be tested for by the DNA characteristices passed from mother to daughter to her daughter and so on down to the present. After all these years, descendents of Alvira Davis Coe have been discovered and are believed to be related to our Davis Family. If you descend from one of these families or know of any of the descendents of the above families, please contact me. They are needed for the Davis Family History. And, if a female, direct descendent of either Plata Reynolds, her daughter Plata P. Reynolds Davis, or Marena Davis Grisham, her testing would help us verify the relatedness of descendents of Alvira Davis Coe and the two known Davis sisters--Plata Davis Reynolds and Marena Davis Grisham. Such testing is the latest genealogical resouce available to family historians.
