Looking for more information about Rebecca Miller Partridge Holmes.
Here is what I know (much of which I have not personally verified).
She was born in 1814 in Monongalia Co., Virginia (now West Virginia). Her parents were Joshua Miller and Rebecca Grayham--I don't have anything on Joshua and Rebecca Miller's parents. On 25 Jul 1832, in Highland Co., OH, she married Robert G. Partridge (b: 1803, Jefferson Co., OH), son of Robert Partridge and Catherine Randall. I have nothing on Robert and Catherine Partridge's parents.
Rebecca had five children with Robert: Edward (b: 1833, Highland Co., OH), Joshua (b. 1837, Highland Co., OH), Robert (b:1839, Edgar Co., IL), Isaac Newton (b: 1841, Edgar Co., IL) and Mary (b: 1844, Edgar Co., IL)
Rebecca's husband, Robert Partridge, died 1846, Edgar Co., IL. On 19 Apr 1846, Edgar Co., IL, she married John Holmes (b: 1790, Westmoreland Co., PA). In the 1850 Census, for Edgar Co., IL, we find her with John Holmes and his minor children, Rebecca's son Isaac Newton Partridge, and Melissa L. Holmes, presumably her daughter with John Holmes. No mention of Mary, Robert, Joshua or Edward. Joshua was living with his uncle John Partridge in 1850. But that still leaves 3 children unaccounted for, including Mary who would have been only 6 at the time.
Rebecca is next found in the 1860 Census in Coffey Co., KS. Presumably she has either left John Holmes or he has died.
Here is what I don't know:
Where were her missing children in 1850? What happened to Melissa Holmes and was she in fact Rebecca and John Holmes' child? What does anyone know of John Holmes after 1850? And what happened to Rebecca after 1860?
Thank you for any help that you can give me.
