Hi Francis,

Well fancy running into you here!! Coles Co is my mother's dad side of the family. Haven't worked on them [Wall, Kehoe] in a coons age. Been stuck on the SHELBYs <grin>

This Keenan seems to have kept a low profile- I don't find him on the census in this county. Nor is he mentioned in the Coles Co IL history book for 1876-1876

But I did find him on the WWI draft registration cards for 1917-18- which shows the following:

Dated 5 June 1917 in Mattoon-
G. P. Keenan born 8 Sept 1891 KY, age 26
Address: 2015 Charleston Ave, Mattoon, Coles Co IL
Occupation: Locomotive fireman
Employed by: Illinois Central Railroad
Single, white-
Dependant mother [not named]
He had blue eyes and red hair.
Signs his name as G. P. Keenan

There were some other Keenan's in this county from Ireland-can't tell if there is any connection. I'll keep an eye out as I go thru microfilm for this county.
