I just started researching this Shirley line recently. I don't have information on Clementine but will do some searching and see what I can come up with. Would love to exchange information. I am working on the Children of John Charles Shirley and Sarah Ingledore/Engledow.

I am an Engledow researcher. Hiram/Huran/Huron? Shirley's parents were John Charles Shirley and Sarah "Sally" Ingledore/Ingledove/Engledove/Engledow. They married 1807, Wythe County, Virginia. Sarah's father, William Engledow/Engledove, mentions daughter, Sally Shearley, in his Will, Wythe County, Virginia, 1813-1814. I think that this is the same Sarah Ingledore shown as the wife of Charles Shirley in Clay County, Illinois. They are buried in Old Union Cemetery, Clay County, Illinois.

I descend from Sarah's brother, John Engledow, who married Elizabeth Simpson in Grayson County, Virginia, 1808, and left the area as did Charles and Sarah Shirley around that same time. Charles and Sarah went to Kentucky and then on to Orange County, Indiana, and finally settled in Clay county, Illinois. John and Elizabeth Engledow went to Warren County, Tennessee and then wound up in Nacogdoches County, Republic of Texas, prior to Statehood. John died in the Nacogdoches area in 1840.

Would love to hear from you,

Gayle
