But just like online trees headstone are not always correct. Example my maternal grandfather's headstone says born 1884 yet I wound his birth certificate and his death certificate which both says born 1883. Another is a great great uncle where his headstone says died before his Civil War regiment left the state but the official record says died in Nashville during the war. That is why I want to know if Hiram's death certificate is on file in Woodbury County Recorder's office before I spend the money to try and order it.
