I have information from the Sioux City Journal (January 1902) stating that Alfred Hall was the father of Albert, Ellen, Fred, William, Robert and George Hall. Alfred Hall born abt. 1816 in England, came to America in the early 1860s. The family settled on a farm in Will County, IL. Robert and Fred Hall left and went to Wisconsin. It was in the "Badger state" that they assumed the name of Kneebs.
Fred was a blacksmith in Sioux City. Bob Kneebs or Robert Thomas Hall was a horse racer and there are several articles about him in the Sioux City Journal. Robert is listed as having several scrapes with the law in NE and Germany.
Robert Thomas Hall was born Feb. 24, 1840 in Hanwell, Berkshire, England and died in 1902 in Woodland Park, Riverside. He is buried in the Floyd Cemetery in Sioux City.
George Hall was born August 8, 1942 in Berkshire, England and died November 8, 1927 in Sergeant Bluff, IA. My husband is a descendant of George.
I don't know if this is the Kneebs you are looking for.
