I am looking for a connection between the Henry O'Reilley family of Cresco, Iowa and David O'Reilly of Illinois. Henry was b. April 18, 1827 in Coundy Clark, Ireland and came to America and met Catherine O'Mahoney who was b. May 3, 1839 in County Waterford, Ireland. They had eight children, two born in New York (Mike and Mary), Thomas in Ohio and Catherine, David, Ellen, Johanna, and Maggie in Cresco Iowa. One of the ladies married into the Thomas Fox family.

My grandfather is David O'Reilly who was born in Cresco, Iowa and married Jeanette Baker of Chicago, Il where they married. They moved to Arlington Heights, Il. Jeanette died when my father, Terrence, was four years old. David was killed in a factory explosion where he was the night watchman when my father was five about 1913. I have very little information to go on and have not been able to get birth or death records to prove that David O'Reilley of Iowa and the David O'Reilly of Illinois are one and the same. In an article found on the Thomas Fox family in the 1989 Howard County History Book it list the last known address of David O'Reilley as Chicago, IL.

My father was Terrence Henry O'Reilly -- the 1910 census has him listed as the son of David and Jeanette O'Reilly along with a sister, Netta and brothers Edward and Irwin.

Anyone having any information on the family that could help me prove that the two families are related I would be very glad to have that information.
