Chas. Wm. BENTRUP, Jr., the fifth child of Chas. Wm. BENTRUP, Sr. (b. MO, 1863), and his wife Mary (Jecklin) BENTRUP, was born in Minburn on 29 Dec. 1898, per the family Bible. This BENTRUP family was living in Palo Alto Co. from 1889 through 1893; in Des Moines, 1895-96; in Minburn, Dallas Co., IA, in 1898; in Camden Co., MO, from 1900 through 1908; and in Arkansas by 1910. Chas. Wm. Sr.'s brother Gustavus Siegel BENTRUP (b. MO, 1865) was in Minburn for at least June, 1900, as he was the last Milburn person enumerated in that census. He was living with the Fred Stevenson family and working as a wagon maker, possibly as an employee of John Welch. He appears never to have married. Does anyone have any information about "Gus"? He was living alone in Mallard, Palo Alto Co., in 1910 and 1920. All I know of Gus comes from a letter between his brothers in which it was observed that he had asked his brothers for money, and that he "liked to hunt."
