We have a new member in the Whalen/Whelan-O'Faloain yDNA Project. (Hyland is a variant of the O'Faolain -Whelan name) His paternal line traces back to; Thomas Hyland born 1845 Ireland, died Dublin. As he has only joined this week, we do not have his results yet, but will post them when they are available. yDNA traces a mans paternal line, his father, fathers, fathers line, just like a surname. It is a great tool to be used with our traditional genealogy. We have 66 men tested, some with links back to Co Waterford, Kilkenny, Laois, Tipperary, Wexford, Cork, Kildare, Limerick and Dublin. Our members are from the USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland and the UK. Will your family match any of our members?? We would love to see more Hyland men in the group to see the relationship between the families. For more information on our project please visit our webpage, or send me an email; http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/whalen One of the companies we use in our yDNA Project are having "Holiday Season specials" for new members wishing to join.
