You are the first person to ask about my MILES line, I am surprised to hear of a HILAND/HIGHLAND connection there. Unfortunately, I have not as yet begun researching that side, as the HILANDs have been so time consuming! I have wanted to for quite some time, but I have been focusing on HILANDs as a project for my grandfather, who has been ill for a while now. It is his family name, and I want to give him the book I am working on (at least a draft) while I still can. In any case, you have intrigued me, I think I might have to spare some time to find out if there is connection here!
Let me give u just a little background on me to begin with, My maiden name is MILES, what I know of the family (simply from oral family history) is that the original MILES came here from Germany, although an Aunt once told me it was France :) all of my MILES relatives live in Oklahoma, where they have since the 1800's. Before that, I am not sure.
I will spend a couple days researching what information you have and get in contact with my relatives on that side and see what they have to say about it, it's certainly interesting. Would it be alright if I e-mailed you with any information I find? If you like, you may email me at Lizmiles1@gmail.com
Thanks for your response to my post!
