Hi Elizabeth: Your message intrigued me. Especially your name. I have an Elizabeth Miles who married a Wm. Goldsmith in Kent, England who had Ann Goldsmith who married John Highland in 1820. John and Ann immigrated to Canada in about 1840. They also owned land in Niagara FAlls, NY, where two of their sons lived. I am trying to trace my Highland(Hyland) ancestry and connect with someone in England that is a live relative today. So far, no go. But, my curiosity is about your Miles line. Are you tracing that line to? Elizabeth Miles and Wm. Goldsmith lived in Tonbridge, Kent, England. Does this sound familiar?
