In the course of my Alfred Norman Hyland research I've come across the Hyland Teape link but am still trying to understand it. Agnes Hyland married Arthur Stanley Teape in 1883 (I have not seen the actual certificate) yet in 1901 Sydney Hyland (believed to be a brother) was in the home of John Sandon Teape, a Solicitor. His wife is given as Agnes A. Zillah (born in the USA) went to Brisbane in Queensland on the 'British Nation' in 1875 but the ages of her parents seem incorrect. Alfred Hyland committed suicide in Melbourne in 1894. His Will gives no mention of family members with a legacy to the Manageress of one of his Butchers shops. Do respond. Perhaps we are both getting somewhere. |
