Martin Hyland was born about 1895, the son of William Hyland [1861-1924] and Bridget Collins [1867-1932]. There were 6 children living in 1920: William [1890-1968], Daniel [1892-1952], Martin, Henry [1896-1986], Elizabeth [1897-1987] and Edna [1903-1969].
The children are all [except Martin] in the online CADI [Edna as Edna Logan and Elizabeth as Elizabeth Emerson].
The 1900 Census gives the date of immigration for the parents, 1888, and the years married, 12, so they would appear to have immigrated and married about the same time. They were from Ireland. William's death notice notes that he had several brothers who had emigrated to the US and a sister, Mrs. K. Collins, who had stayed in Ireland.
William Hyland, senior, died 30 June 1924, and his death notice appeared in the SF Examiner, July 1. Bridget died around the beginning of September, 1932. I don't know her exact DOD, but she was buried 3 September. William and Bridget are buried together at Holy Cross, Colma.
