Your mother's church baptismal record should have her parents place of birth. You need to backtrack from yourself going backwards generation by generation collecting documents that eventually will provide you with a place of birth of the ancestor that came from "old country".
According to census is good. Does the census say Na-naturalized; Al-alien or Pa-first paper for either ancestor? You might check into a draft registration form for Peter. You have had no luck locating their arrival manifest?
