My directory of Hungarian town names of 1913 shows the Hugarian name of Füzeser for the today Slovak town Vrbnica. Could Sisgesher be a misreading of Füzeser? Other historic names of the same town were Fessár and Fissarowce.

Zbince (with an inverted roof on the Z) had the Hungarian name Nagycséb. Why could this be spelled Sisgesher? Füzeser lies right next to Nagycseb. Was Nagycseb the location of the parish which was the recording place?

The odd thing is that the index of rom.-cath. birth records in old Hungary two births to Ferenc Schönberger and Eva Germann/Kerman in a town called Cséb in old Bács-Bodrog county (also called Dunacseb) in 1830 and 1834 respectively. Nagycseb and Dunacseb were about as far from each other as two places could be in old Hungary.

Further, Emanuel and Manuel are not Hungarian first names, I believe. I wonder how this first name was recorded. What exactly do you know about the birthplace of your great uncle?

You need to get a lock on the location of the birth place of your grandmother. Could you post a scan of the recent certificate you obtained on the board for Hungary (which allows the posting of attachments)?
