I read the obit on Augustus Hubbell (b. 1827, Pompey, NY) and it states that Augustus was "an old Mexican War soldier". I know he was a veteran of the Civil War (41st Ohio Infantry) but am unable to determine whether he fought in the Mexican War or if this was an error. He was living in NY in 1850, so he possibly served for the state of New York.
