I was interested in reading the corresondence to your question about David Holt of Hanover. I cannot give you an answer as to who this David Holt is related. Two pieces of information. There is a magazine that I believe is titled "The Virginia Genealogist." In volumn 4, there is a detailed article on the relatives of Randall Holt of Hog Island. Richard Holt who died in 1693 did leave a will in Essex County. Two of his sons by his first marriage were named Richard and David. There are several people who are reasearching Richards line. Richard Holt (1693) had two children by a second marriage to Margaret Plunkett. They had two children named William and Plunkett Holt. These are the childrn that a David Holt was appointed as guardian. William Holt's will was filed in Essex County, Virginia in 1734. One other note, Richard Holt of Essex County, Virginia was the son of Robert Holt of St. Mary's, Maryland. St. Mary's Robert Holt has a son named David but no one knows what happened to him.
