Hello Harrie, In your previous posts you had mentioned that you found the Klock name in that area, from the time period of 1600's. Are you able to direct me where to find that same information from that time period? I found that his wife's full name was originally Trijntie Alberts Pothoft. I'd like to know what towns Pothoft also showed up in around Holland. Is there a site where I can find out perhaps a passenger list where Abraham Martens Clock would have been listed? Though on Ancestry.com it states he came over circa 1644, there are documents that show that he was actually in Renselaerwyck in 1642 as he had a contract to build a house and barn for a man there. I have looked at the few passenger records that they have on Olivetreegenealogy.com but that wasn't very helpful. Since your suggestion that both Abraham and Trijntie came from SW Holland (possibly) I am curious, and determined, to figure it out. Now, everything that i'm told about Trijntie was that she was born 1629 in New York, so perhaps her father Albert Pothoft and his wife Trijntie, were some of the first settlers to colonize New Amsterdam/New Netherlands. Do you know if there is a list of the first 30 families that colonized that area in 1621-1624? Lastly, and I don't know if this is correct information or not, but on the Ancestry.com message boards it was suggested that Abraham Martens Clock has ancestry from the french speaking Walloons because the name originated as Clocq, then translated to Klock and then to Clock after that. However, I thought that the Walloons came over with the first wave of settlers circa 1624, and Abrham didn't come over until 1642. If he had been a Clocq, because there was also a Pelgrom Clock (who signed his documents as Clocq) who emigrated in 1646 to the same area... where would those Walloons have originated in Holland? I'm sorry I am bombarding you with questions. I hope you may have some suggestions for me. Thank you for all of your help thus far. Anna
