Most people show Mary to be a daughter of William Hoge and Barbara Hume however William's will dated April 18, 1729 listed 6 children and 2 sons-in-law. The 2 sons-in-law were Neal Thomson who received 100 acres of land and Robert White who received 7 shillings and who was married to Margaret. It doesn't state which daughter was wed to Neal Thomson but it doesn't seem possible for her to be the same Mary Hogue who married Mark (Marcus) Hardin due to dates I have for Mary and Mark. There is one other daughter named in the will: Joreter or Jorsebar. I imagine that she could have the nickname of Mary but I have no proof of that at all. Please tell me what proof you have that Mary Hogue who married Mark Hardin is daughter to William Hoge and Barbara Hume.
