I'm interested in the family of John Hoge and Gwentholyn Bowen Davis, and have several questions:
First: Gwentholyn is commonly identified as Gwentholyn Bowen Davis. Does the use of "Bowen" indicate a previous marriage? or is this a hyphenated name "Bowen-Davis".
Second: John is consistently described as dying 11 October 1745. What is the source for this? Gravesstone? Family bible? or what?
Third: Some say that he died in Kernstown VA. Others that he died in East Pennsboro, Cumberland County PA, and still others that he diedin Washington County PA. Is there direct evidence for where he died?
