I recently found my Hoge connection through the daughter of John Hoge b 1721 and Elizabeth Lennox. Their daughter Elizabeth Hoge b 1757 married an Rutherford. His first name unknown. She later married William Brice. By Rutherford she had Amelia Rutherford ba 1782 in Sheperdstown, Va and died after 1860 in Pa. probably Allegheny County. It has been handed down in family lore that Amelia Rutherford was related to George Washington. Have never been able to prove this.
