Does anyone know anything about William and Esther (----) Hoge of Virginia? They had a daughter, Susannah, who was born March 8, 1764. See Michael L. Cook, Pioneer Lewis Families, p. 1291. According to Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy (Vol. VI, p. 413), Susannah was disowned by the Society of Friends in 1786 in Frederick County, Virginia, for having married Henry Lewis, contrary to discipline. In The Family of Hoge (1927), James Hoge Tyler talks about a William Hoge who was born in Musselboro, Scotland, in 1660 and came to America in 1682 on the ship "Caledonia." He is supposed to have married Barbara Hume. These two are said to have had a son, William Hoge, Jr., who lived in Loudoun County, Virginia. I am wondering if the William Hoge who married Esther (----) was a descendant of this William Hoge, Jr. Does anyone know anything about these people?
