Therese, I'm not sure there is a missing generation. Our family history doesn't have it as such. James did not marry Susannah Sewell until 1799. That would make him 37 before he even began to father his 10 or 11 children. His first child or first son was also called James. He died in 1846 and if he was the first he could have been 46 at the most at that time. He was a US district attorney. So if James Sr. was having a child everyother year, they were being born until say 1820. He died in 1831. If our ancestors were one of the later children born, that would take care of the time element. He was a member of St Prtricks Church in DC. Maybe there are baptismal records there. He is buried in Mt Olivet Cemetery wherever that is. He had become very wealthy for his time. I wonder what happened to it. Since he died when the youngest could have been 11, his wife needed it to live etc. Fasinating! Well if we are right, we have him with three of his children, James, Bridget and David.I'd loveto be able to confirm it. Gaye
