2.3 Nathaniel Barksdale Hightower our line 1818 d 1891 Coal Creek, Anderson County Tennessee married Cassandra Francis [last name might have been Clevins]
Census shows on October 22, 1850, Barksdale and his family were in Jefferson County Tennessee district 13. Then July 24.1860 in Taylorsburg, Cocke County Tennessee district 8. Taylorsburg is now Edwina, Tn. just south of Newport, Tn. South of Edwina is Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where the Hightower family went to church. Then the family moves once again to Coal Creek, Anderson County Tennessee district 5 July 25, 1870.

.... 4.5.        Michael "Mitchel" Hightower, b. 1 Jul 1884 in Anderson Co, TN, occupation Coal Miner, d. 1946 in Blue Diamond, Perry Co, KY.
[Tip Hightower, the ventilation furnace operator was put on trial and was acquitted of negligence for the Fraterville Mine explosion in Briceville, TN where 216 miners inside the mine lost their lives On May 19, 1902.
Tipton's son James P Hightower was killed as were Tipton's brother Leander, and Leander’s son Bart Hightower.

3.12.       Ananias Nice Hightower b. Jul. 10, 1857 Newport Cocke County Tennessee d. Apr. 26, 1942 Ages Harlan County died of a Chronic Heart Attack. In 1897 Nice was in Proctor, red Ash, KY where the non-union mines Proctor Coal Co was operating
Nice was married three times.
He married (1) Susan Craig, married 13 Jun 1878 in Anderson Co, TN, b. 1860 their children were, Barstel, Robert, Lela and Mattie.
He married (2) Lassie Bowers, married 18 Nov 1898 in Anderson Co, TN their child was, Virgil.
He married (3) Lydia Belle Hubbard, married 1899/1900, b. 15 Sep 1885 in Lily, Laurel County, KY, d. 6 Jun 1929 in Harlan Co, KY, buried in Ages Cemetery, Harlan Co, KY. Lydia: Died of a Ruptured Appendix.
